Silicon Nitride Ceramic Substrate
Silicon Nitride (Si₃N₄) ceramic substrates are high-performance materials engineered for demanding power electronics and automotive applications. Known for their electrical properties outstanding fracture toughness, and heat dissipation (~70–90 W/m·K), Si₃N₄ substrates provide excellent reliability under thermal and mechanical stress.
Compared to traditional materials, silicon nitride offers superior resistance to thermal shock, making it ideal for applications involving rapid temperature cycling, such as electric vehicle (EV) inverters, IGBT modules, and power control units (PCUs). Its high flexural strength and low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) ensure long-term durability in harsh operating environments.
Silicon nitride substrates are commonly used with DBC (Direct Bonded Copper) technology to enhance both electrical and thermal performance in high-power circuits.
